How does publishing work with Kabulu Global Press?

Kabulu Global Press is a hybrid publisher, so authors don’t have to worry about whether we’ll take their projects seriously. We give you the full ability to tell your own story, but we partner with you on the expenses so that you get higher royalties. Our goal is to give ethnically diverse authors a way into publishing that doesn’t require that they sacrifice themselves on the altar of outsider comfort.

How much would I make in royalties?

The exact amount is going to vary from book to book, as well as the level of work that we put in. With that said, you will always make 70% of the profits, as opposed to the 10-20% that you would make from traditional publishing.

How much would everything cost overall?

So here’s the uncomfortable part. We have a few different options for our authors to choose from that are organized into five tiers: a Foundational Package at $200, Intermediate at $900, Full at $2000, Deluxe at $5000, and Premium at $7000. Each one comes with a different set of perks that coincide with what our authors want. Custom packages can be created through coordination with your editorial team.

How does printing work?

Here at KGP, we employ print on demand services and global distribution, so you can expect to find your work marketed online through all major channels. Free advance copies are included in each publishing package, so you’ll be able to market to your personal circle and beyond!

What genres are accepted at Kabulu Global Press?

We accept submissions of every kind of Fiction (save for erotica, it’s just not our thing), Narrative Nonfiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, and Spiritual works. We are Black, Latinx, Asian, LGBTQIA+, Neurodivergent and Disabled friendly, and while we accept submissions from everybody, those groups are the whole reason we founded this company. They have the priority.

We try not to be overly traditional here, so it should come as no surprise that our query process is a little unorthodox. We want to hear directly from you, no agent or letter required.
